Saturday, June 09, 2001 The Gila Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation held it's second annual committee picnic on Saturday June 9th. This year's picnic was held at the Cherry Creek Campground just north of Silver City. We had a real good turn out this year, in all there were about 25 to 30 people attending this years picnic. Those attending were treated to a hamburger lunch with all the trimmings! "After all the hard work that goes into planning and putting on our banquette, we like to get out and have a good time" said Charles Rivera Gila chapter co-chair. "This is a great way to get everyone together with their families and just have fun and relax!" Committee members enjoyed a day of sitting in the shade and visiting with each other, and watching the kids run around, while the more serious ones took part in a few washer tournaments! The Gila chapter would like to thank Albertsons who generously donated the ground beef for the hamburgers! We would also like to thank everyone who brought a side dish! Everything was wonderful. We are hoping to have another picnic a little later in the summer!! Check out web site for more information, or better yet come to our next meeting!! |
